Island County Public Health
Located on beautiful Whidbey and Camano Islands in Washington State, ICPH needed to develop a communication strategy that would help promote engagement between the county and its community members. They needed a strategy that would be simple to implement for staff across multiple departments.
Our team developed a comprehensive strategy that focused on increasing monthly content output and improving overall engagement. We provided analytical insights and educated the Public Health team on streamlined organizational processes, making content creation for multiple departments simpler and more efficient for each department lead.
In addition to the content created by Blueprint, we created simple-to-use templates that were shared throughout the public health unit, providing training sessions to educate staff on how to use each template and schedule to social media.
Along with creating social media content, Blueprint has led a design overhaul on various Island County Public Health marketing materials including water quality reports, newspaper advertisements, health information brochures, and strategic guides.
Each design was created with the end goal of sharing complicated health information in a way that is simple to understand and easy to action in every day life for Island County community members.
In addition to the original social media engagement campaign, Blueprint worked to enhance their existing website content and develop a web application aimed at identifying health weaknesses in the community.
This website has the end user in mind, with a survey system that provides community members with customized resources based on their results. All of the resources are available on Whidbey and Camano Islands, with a reporting system in the back end that provides anonymous feedback on health weaknesses in the community.
Results
This initiative resulted in more dynamic social media profiles, increased public awareness, and a sustainable strategy that Island County Public Health can confidently execute independently.
